George Frazis leads George Capital Finance Solutions (George CFS), as Founder and CEO, working with a team of Australia’s top finance experts to provide customized debt capital solutions for family businesses and individuals.
Deeply respected and recognized leader for his strategic capabilities and transformative vision in the finance industry, George was previously Managing Director and CEO of the Bank of Queensland (BOQ), where he led the largest acquisition in Australian banking since 2008, through a $1.35 billion equity raising. During his tenure, he also expanded retail and business banking, implemented digital and IT transformations, and developed a cloud-based banking platform, growing the lending book from $50 billion to $80 billion and enhancing customer advocacy and enterprise culture.
Before BOQ, George was Chief Executive of Westpac Group’s Consumer Bank, overseeing brands like Westpac, St.George, and Bank of Melbourne, managing a $550 billion lending book and leading over 10,000 staff. He also served as CEO of St.George Banking Group and Chief Executive of Westpac New Zealand, and held roles at National Australia Bank, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s Institutional Banking Division, and the Boston Consulting Group.
George’s Board positions include Chair of the Prime Minister’s Industry Advisory Committee on Veterans’ Employment and Board Member of The Hellenic Initiative. He co-founded Head Start Homes, a charity helping single Indigenous mothers purchase homes. George holds a B.Eng (Hons) from Curtin University and an MBA from Wharton.
