A Global Hyperscaler building 3D maps and AR experiences needed pedestrian field capture at planetary scale ” across cities, countries, and continents ” using the client's own gaming-app workflow to validate every collection point.

Challenges

• 3D maps for AR can't be scraped from satellite imagery. Street-level AR needs pedestrian-captured 360° video ” and that requires field operations, not desk operations.
• 17 cities × 4 continents is a project-management problem, not a data problem. Equipment, surveyor schedules, location coordination, and quality discipline have to hold across hemispheres simultaneously ” a vendor that's strong in one geography won't get this done.
• Validation has to happen at capture, not in post. AR experiences depend on geolocation accuracy at the meter level. Validating a subset of captures after the fact won't surface the failures that matter.
