Dr. Craig Samitt, MD, MBA is a nationally known expert and leader in healthcare transformation, care delivery, and policy. He is the Founder and CEO of ITO Advisors, a consulting and advisory firm dedicated to reinventing the healthcare industry. In this role, he serves as a board member and advisor to various public and private corporations, federal agencies, health plans and systems, and numerous digital health and care delivery organizations.
Dr. Samitt has nearly 30 years of experience in leading and transforming healthcare, most recently as President & CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (BCBSMN) focusing on value-based partnerships and population health. He was EVP and Chief Clinical Officer of Anthem’s Diversified Business Group, advancing clinical strategy and provider partnerships.
He has also led Dean Health System and Healthcare Partners as President & CEO and served as a Commissioner on MedPAC. He was named among the “50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders” by Modern Healthcare.
Dr. Samitt holds degrees from Tufts University, Columbia University, and The Wharton School.
