Firstsource is a perfect example of a great organization with great HR practices,
one of the sort after practices is that employees are given a chance for cross function
transfer, employees are encouraged to take up cross functional roles & are developed
for the same. This works really well in developing cross functional leadership &
retaining the employees by having them intellectually engaged with ongoing functional
challenges. I am a perfect example of the same, having worked almost 10 Years in
the Operations functions , I was given a chance to lead a centre & then encouraged
to join a very different function… employees are moved across functions & this works
out to be Win Win for both organization & the employees.
My name is Charley Mellon, I have worked for Firstsource for over 2 years. I began
my time here as a Recruitment executive. The team were very welcoming and I really
enjoyed this role and seen how my role contributed to in a vital process within
the organisation. In April 2011 I was then given a development opportunity for the
role of HR Officer. I have always seen first hand the opportunities internally,
within Firstsource and was delighted to take the chance to learn new things within
the company. I am really enjoying my time here, I have recommended Firstsource to
family and friends and will continue to do so in the future.
The culture at Firstsource makes it possible to grow yourself and your career. One
of Firstsource’s key values is believing all their employees have the right and
ability to succeed. Management looks for and supports individuals motivated to advance
their career. Here at Firstsource you can start out as a temporary and work your
way up into management, much like I did.
The things that interest me most at Firstsource are the people and the friendly
attitudes. The flexibility of the hours is nice, also. When I first came to Firstsource,
I didn't know anyone, but felt comfortable with my coworkers pretty quickly. I am
also interested in the opportunity for advancement. I came to Firstsource in June
2011, as a Claims Examiner and have since been promoted to the Quality Analyst of
that same client in September 2011. If I were to give advice to others on joining
our team at Firstsource, I would tell them to give it a shot. They will not be disappointed.
The atmosphere in our office is better than any other that I have been in. It is
easy to see that you are cared about as a person.
Where do you see yourself 5 years down the line?” was the final question posed to
me during my interview with Firstsource. Never in my wildest dreams had I ever thought
that I would be working in a completely different geography in a different capacity
and domain. Firstsource is the first company that I have worked for that actually
follows their stated values. The way I have been treated over the last 7 years shows
that Firstsource actually believes in the statement that "Employees Are Our Greatest
Strength." It has been great working on a team with people from different cultures
and different experiences because I have learnt a lot from my managers and my peers
and continue to do so. I love working for Firstsource because of the unique balance
we have as a corporation. We have a great customer portfolio, strong geographical
presence across the globe and talented employees that forms the classification of
a large conglomerate. Joining Firstsource was one of the best decisions of my life.
Choosing a career at Firstsource was the best decision of my life. It was obvious
from my first day that this was a company that not only valued its employee, but
truly cared about our opinions and suggestions for making this the best possible
work environment. Employees at Firstsource are able to utilize an internal site
that allows us to submit ideas and suggestions on improving the workplace straight
to the management team. Each submission is then considered and implemented if feasible
and the company has the means to do so. Having a hand in tailoring our work environment
to match our needs makes working here a more pleasant experience than any other
company I have worked for before. I believe this opinion is shared not just by me,
but with the people around me as well.
